If your account is delinquent, Jackson Electric Cooperative will send to you a notice at least 10 days before disconnection. If you do not reconcile your account after you receive the written disconnect notice, you may receive a telephone call stating that your account is past due. This will be your final disconnect notice. You will be subject to pay all electric charges and fees associated with the disconnection policy.

If you have questions about your bill or have been notified of a service disconnect, call us as soon as possible to discuss your situation. Depending on your account history, special payment arrangements may be available to you.

Load Limiters

Beginning November 1 to April 15, Jackson Electric Cooperative is able to utilize load limiters to those members who are delinquent with their electric bill payments. Load limiters are installed to allow the member with 30 minutes of electricity usage, then 30 minutes with no usage. That continues 24 hours per day until the electric bill has been reconciled.

Jackson Electric Cooperative is not governed by the rules and regulations established by the Public Service Commission, therefore service disconnection is optional for the cooperative. Jackson Electric Cooperative chooses to utilize the load limiters rather than a complete service disconnection during the months of November - April.
