In-floor Radiant Heat

In Floor Radiant Heat A warm floor is wonderful! In-floor radiant heating is a popular option, very well-suited for basements and slab-on-grade construction. With this type of system, electric heating cable or hot water tubing is installed below or in the concrete slab. The heat radiated from the concrete provides a comfortable, even heat throughout the area.

In-floor radiant heat qualifies for our special off-peak electric heating rate. An electric boiler provides the heat in a hot water system. In-floor radiant heat does not require a back-up heat source, as the concrete slab stores enough heat to maintain a comfortable room temperature during a peak control period. However, this type of heating system requires the installation of additional equipment to provide air conditioning.
