Line Extensions
New Construction Line Extensions If you need a line extension to provide electric service to a new site, please stop at the office to make application for a new service. Wisconsin State law requires all new one or two family dwellings to pass a Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code (UDC) inspection. This law prohibits Jackson Electric Cooperative from energizing a service or setting a meter until the electrical portion of the inspection is completed and the inspection stamp or seal is in place. It is the responsibility of the homeowner, or his or her contractor, to schedule an inspection and to contact Jackson Electric after the dwelling has passed the inspection process. Line Extension Fees Fees for line extensions are adjusted periodically to reflect the true cost of construction. Please contact Jackson Electric for current fees. Line extension fees for housing developments, commercial and industrial sites, and other special needs of members, will be determined on a case-by-case basis. |
