Safety Demonstrations
Teaching the community and our youth about the importance of safety around power lines is the purpose of Jackson Electric Cooperative’s safety demonstrations. A hot line demonstration is a powerful indoor demonstration conducted by our professional electrical line workers. The audience witnesses the power and danger of electric lines by viewing what happens when a tree branch, kite or person (simulated by a hotdog) accidentally touch a power line energized to 7,200 volts.
Jackson Electric Cooperative is also involved in the discussion of farm safety around power lines during the county's annual tractor safety certification course.
Safety demonstrations and presentations are available for civic and community organizations. For more information on this program, please contact Jackson Electric Cooperative.
