Teaching the community and our youth about the importance of safety around power lines is the purpose of Jackson Electric Cooperative’s Hot-Line Demonstrations. This is a powerful indoor demonstration conducted by professional electrical line workers. The students witness the power and danger of electric lines by viewing what happens when a tree branch, kite or person (simulated by a hotdog) accidentally touch a power line energized to 7,200 volts.

These demonstrations can be conducted for civic and community organizations, as well. For more information on Hot-Line Demonstrations, please contact Jackson Electric Cooperative.
