Energy Star Applicance and Lighting

Reward Program

Energy Star is a government-backed program of labeling and promoting products from over 30 categories for residential or commercial use. These products are 10-25% more efficient than that required by the federal standard while providing top performance and innovative features. EPA introduced Energy Star in 1992 and in 1995, DOE partnered in the program. The Energy Star label has since become a familiar symbol on major appliances, office equipment, lighting, and home electronics. Energy efficient choices can save families about a third on their energy bills without sacrificing features, style or comfort. The results are already adding up. Last year alone, Americans, with the help of Energy Star, saved enough energy to power 10 million homes and avoid greenhouse gas emissions from 12 million cars--all while saving $6 billion.

Jackson Electric is providing a cash reward for the following Energy Star labeled appliances and lights. Look for the Energy Star label to assure that you are purchasing appliances and lights that offer the highest efficiencies available. Rebate forms are available at the Jackson Electric Cooperative office and must be accompanied by a sales receipt and a copy of the energy guide displaying the Energy Star logo if available.

Rebates are as follows:

Clothes washers - $50

Dishwashers - $30

Dehumidifiers - $25

Refrigerators - $50

Freezers - $35

Room air conditioners - $25

Compace Fluorescent Light Bulbs - $2

Torchiere Lamps $20

Rebate amounts will be credited to your electric account.
