You have a choice for the future ... and it's green.

You use more electric energy today than your parents did. And, your children will likely use more than you do, creating greater demand for affordable, dependable and clean energy. Despite these demands, it's possible that your children and grandchildren can enjoy a cleaner, greener world. It all depends on the choices you make today.

One choice you can make is to participate in the Evergreen program. Through Evergreen, you will invest in harnessing an energy source that is abundant and completely renewable.

Evergreen renewable energy comes from the wind and waste-to-energy sources such as landfill gas and livestock manure. We purchase energy from highly-efficient wind farms. New technology methane digesters located throughout our system convert waste from landfills and livestock confinements to bio-gas that is used to generate electricity.

A family that chooses to participate in the Evergreen program is committing to purchase at least one 100 kilowatt-hour (kWh) block of electricity from renewable sources. That's about one-tenth of the electricity used per month by the average household. Each 100 kWh block will cost $1.50 per month more than electricity generated by our traditional cost-efficient methods.

Although renewable energy sources cost more than traditional forms of energy, the benefits are priceless. You can encourage the development of renewable energy sources by participating in the program. Contact our office for more information.
