Located in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Jackson Electric Cooperative (JEC) serves more than 8,000 members across Jackson and neighboring counties. From the expansive Black River State Forest and hundreds of miles of ATV/UTV trails to opportunities for kayaking, camping, fishing, and exploring the Wazee Lake Recreation Area, (Wisconsin’s deepest inland lake and a former historic mine quarry) the region offers a unique blend of adventure and tranquility.

The Perks of Working at Jackson Electric

  • Competitive Pay: Starting hourly range of $40 - $50, based on relevant experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs and oversees the wiring, installation, testing, calibration, and repairing of all three-phase and single-phase meters, load management receivers, generators, and solar equipment.
  • Conducts programming and diagnostics on meters as necessary, ensuring all readings are accurate.
  • Has extensive member contact through phone and in-person communications.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Master Electrician license is preferred, Journeyman Electrician license acceptable.
    • Technical college degree in an electrical-related field is preferred.
    • Meter Technician certification preferred.
  • Technical and Professional Skills:
    • Must have, or be able to learn and maintain, a working knowledge of load management and metering systems.
    • Must have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while performing job functions and technical work.
